Jeju’s poker summer just added another heavyweight. The Red Dragon Poker Tour’s RDPT Plus Summer festival opens today, July 8, at Les A Casino inside the Jeju Shinhwa World resort, and it runs through July 19 with a stacked 92-event schedule built for grinders and holidaymakers alike.
At the centre of it all sits the Red Dragon Plus Championship, carrying a KRW 1.8 billion guarantee off a KRW 4,000,000 buy-in. That headline number, backed by early-bird packages for players who lock in ahead of time, is what will pull fields from Korea, Japan, Greater China and Southeast Asia to the island over the next twelve days.
Ninety-two events in twelve days
The 92-tournament spread is deliberately wide. Alongside the flagship Championship, expect the usual RDPT mix of single-day turbos, deep-stack side events, bounty formats and lower buy-ins aimed squarely at recreational players who fly in for the resort as much as the poker. Multiple Main Event starting flights give travelling players room to fit a shot around a long weekend rather than committing to the full run.
Why Jeju, and why now
Jeju has quietly become one of Asia’s busiest live-poker hubs, helped by visa-free entry for many regional passports and a cluster of resort casinos within easy reach of one another. The island is running hot this month: RDPT Plus lands with the ACE Poker League’s Jeju festival barely wrapped and the K Poker Cup and King Poker Cup series set to follow from July 25. For anyone plotting a summer poker trip that doesn’t involve a US visa or a Vegas flight, the calendar has rarely looked this inviting.
Structures, satellite details and the full event list are live through the tour’s official channels. With the doors open today, the first chips are already in the air on Jeju — and the Championship guarantee gives the whole festival a number worth chasing.
