CoinPoker’s first Global Online Poker Championship ended with $88.44 million paid out against a $50 million guarantee, or 177% of the promise with no overlay. The 37-day series ran from August 23 to September 28 and logged 2,122,920 entries from 48,815 players in 172 countries, according to figures reported on October 1.
That is a big number for a crypto-first room that most players still see as second-tier. For comparison, the $50 million guarantee was already an aggressive bet, and the series cleared it by almost $40 million.
The $530 Main Event cleared $3.7M
The headline event, a $530 Main Event with a $3 million guarantee (a CoinPoker record), drew 7,414 entries and built a $3.707 million prize pool. It ended in a heads-up deal: “siema” took the title and $423,606, and “DRATINI” collected $393,019.
The cheaper mains drew even bigger fields. The $55 Global Main pulled 21,281 entries past its $1 million guarantee, with “PenthousePrinz” winning $57,710. The $11 Global Mini Main hit 25,060 entries on a $250,000 guarantee, and “Soygeld333” won $24,050.
At the high end, the $25,500 Super High Roller had just 51 entries but still built a $1.27 million pool, and “Trance” took $397,035. The $1,500 CoinMasters BTC High Roller drew 1,149 runners, with “PistolWhip” banking $300,025.
Four Sundays, four seven-figure pools
The weekly $215 CoinMillion ran every Sunday in September with a $1 million guarantee, and all four beat it:
- Sept 6: 4,986 entries, won by “fish2025” for $119,500
- Sept 13: 5,321 entries, “FINALVERDICT7” for $123,979, the biggest CoinMillion in the site’s history at that point
- Sept 20: 5,181 entries, “GBortoleto” for $121,753
- Sept 27: 5,404 entries, “TheKingOfCatrupe” for $80,896 after an ICM chop
The Player of the Series race went to Argentina’s “agustinverna,” who won ten gold medals and finished with 117 podium points, worth an extra $7,500.
An Asia schedule, not an afterthought
CoinPoker split the GOPC into three regional schedules (Asia, Europe and Latin America), each with its own primetime slots and leaderboards. That matters because most big online series are still built around European evenings, which lands their key events in the early-morning hours for players in Manila, Bangkok or Seoul. A dedicated Asia track, plus crypto deposits alongside cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Luxon Pay, is part of why the room keeps growing in markets where bank transfers to poker sites often fail.
The GOPC also arrives as rival WPT Global climbs the traffic rankings on the back of Asian cash games, so the fight over APAC players outside the GGNetwork is clearly heating up.
Next up: The One, $5M guaranteed
CoinPoker is not slowing down. The One, a $250 no-limit hold’em event with a $5 million guarantee and at least $1 million for first, starts on October 4. It runs 26 Day 1 flights through October 12 (three per day, spread across time zones) before Day 2, and the winner also gets a one-of-one engraved trophy. Satellites, step qualifiers and freerolls opened on September 28. It is the biggest single tournament in the site’s history, and the operator has hinted it will likely come back every year.
If you want to qualify for an Asia-friendly flight but your CoinPoker account isn’t set up yet, @PAGDaddyBot on Telegram can walk you through it.
