If you disconnect during a GGPoker tournament, your seat stays in play: GGPoker’s House Rules say a disconnected player whose time runs out has their hand folded if facing a bet, or checked if not. You keep getting dealt in and keep paying blinds and antes until you reconnect. GGPoker refunds nothing for your own connection problems. The one exception is a crash on GGPoker’s side (GGPoker House Rules, checked November 2026).
What happens if I disconnect during a GGPoker tournament?
A GGPoker tournament keeps running when you disconnect, and your stack stays at the table. When it is your turn and the shot clock and any selected Time Bank Card run out, the software folds your hand if there is a bet to call. If nobody has bet, it checks for you. The House Rules say this applies “whether connected or disconnected”, so the software treats a dropped connection the same as a player who did not act in time.
You are not eliminated for being offline. You lose chips only through blinds, antes and any hands where you had already put money in before the timer ran out.
Do blinds and antes keep posting while I’m offline?
Yes. GGPoker’s House Rules say a player who is not connected when a hand starts is still dealt cards, and their blind and/or ante is still posted. A long disconnect therefore slowly blinds your stack away, and it drains faster late in a tournament when the blinds are high.
Sitting out on purpose works the same way. GGPoker allows a single player to sit out, but blinds and antes keep posting. The House Rules ban two or more players agreeing to sit out at the same time, at the same table or at different tables. GGPoker says this may count as collusion.
Does GGPoker give extra time to reconnect?
Sometimes. GGPoker says it makes “an effort to protect players who are disconnected during the final stages of a real-money tournament, by allowing extra time to reconnect.” The House Rules do not say how many seconds you get or when the “final stages” start, so don’t count on it before the money or in play-money events.
Does my Time Bank Card help if I lose connection?
A Time Bank Card can buy you some extra seconds, but you cannot count on it. GGPoker’s Time Bank Card page (checked November 2026) says a selected card activates automatically when your normal action time runs out. Unused time does not carry over to the next street or hand. If you already selected a card before the connection dropped, it may give you a little longer to get back. Once it runs out, the fold-or-check rule applies.
In cash games, you can buy a Paid Time Bank Card for 1 big blind once you have used up your free cards. Each card gives 30 seconds, and you can buy only one per hand. The 1BB is split among the other players at the table. You can only buy one by clicking at the table, so it is no help once you are already offline.
Will GGPoker refund me if my internet drops?
No. GGPoker’s House Rules say that by entering a tournament, players “accept the risk of internet disconnection”. The rules list problems with your device, lag, freezes and your internet access. GGPoker “does not accept any responsibility for a player disconnect except in the case of a server crash.” Support will not reverse a hand you lost or a stack that was blinded down while your Wi-Fi or mobile data was out.
What if GGPoker itself crashes?
A GGPoker server crash is the one case where you can get money back. If GGPoker cancels a tournament, the House Rules set out how it is settled:
- Before the money: remaining players get their fee and current bounty back. Half the prize pool is split equally between them, and the other half is paid by chip count.
- In the money: remaining players get their fee and bounty back, plus the next pay jump. The rest is paid by chip count.
We explain these steps in our guide to what happens when a GGPoker tournament is cancelled.
What happens if I disconnect in a GGPoker cash game?
In a GGPoker cash game, a disconnect costs you the hand you are in, and it can cost you posted blinds when you come back. Under GGPoker’s Missed Blind Bets Policy, a player who missed the small blind while away must post a dead small blind to return. A player who missed both blinds must post a live big blind plus a dead small blind. Cash stacks are not blinded off the way tournament stacks are, but any money already in the pot when your hand is folded is lost.
If you leave a table soon after you sit down, the Leave Table Policy can also apply. Leaving after one hand without playing at least 10 counts as a refusal. Repeat refusals within 12 hours block you from that blind level for 5, 15, 30 and then 60 minutes. That policy does not cover Rush & Cash or All-In or Fold. See our Rush & Cash guide for how those fast-fold tables work.
How do I stop GGPoker disconnecting in Asia?
Most GGPoker disconnects in Asia are caused by an unstable home or mobile connection, not by GGPoker. A few habits help:
- Use a wired or 5 GHz Wi-Fi connection for deep runs. Keep mobile data turned on as a backup on your phone.
- Do not play through a VPN or switch VPN servers mid-session. A VPN adds lag and can raise location questions on your account. See our poker VPN guide for Asia.
- Update the client before a big tournament, and close apps that use a lot of bandwidth.
- If the app keeps dropping or will not reconnect, work through our GGPoker app not working fixes.

Yes. If you reconnect before your stack is blinded away, you play on as normal with the chips you have left.
How long does GGPoker wait for me to reconnect?
GGPoker’s House Rules give no exact time. They say only that disconnected players get extra time to reconnect in the final stages of real-money tournaments.

No. GGPoker accepts no responsibility for player disconnects except when its own servers crash.
