WPT Global has added a weekly ¥1,000,000 guaranteed tournament built specifically for Asia’s high-stakes crowd. The WPT Asia Super High Roller Championship costs ¥5,300 (roughly $790) to enter, runs every Sunday at 12:05 UTC, and guarantees at least ¥200,000 — about $30,000 — to the winner. It is now a permanent fixture on the schedule rather than a one-off festival event.
The guarantee works out to roughly $150,000 a week. For context, that puts it well above most recurring Sunday majors aimed at the region and turns a mid-four-figure buy-in into a realistic weekly shot at a five-figure score without waiting for a live festival to roll into Jeju or Manila.
The satellite ladder starts at ¥11
The part worth paying attention to is how cheaply you can get in. WPT Global has built three separate qualifying routes into the ¥5,300 seat, and the lowest entry point is ¥11 — under two dollars.

All three are two-step ladders, and the feeders run around the clock through the week rather than clustering in one window. That matters for players spread across Asian time zones, where a satellite schedule pinned to European or American prime time usually means grinding at 4am or skipping the event entirely.
Deep stacks, 15-minute levels
Structurally this is not a turbo dressed up as a championship. Players start with 100,000 chips against opening blinds of 250/500 with a 60 ante — 200 big blinds — and levels run 15 minutes. Late registration stays open through the end of Level 16, roughly four and a half hours into the tournament.
That combination is unusual for a weekly online event at this price. A 200-big-blind start with quarter-hour levels gives postflop play room to breathe early, and a 4.5-hour late-reg window means a Sunday-evening player in Manila, Bangkok or Ho Chi Minh City can fire late without being handed a 20-big-blind stack on arrival. The trade-off is a long night: the 12:05 UTC start lands around 8pm in Manila and 7pm in Bangkok, and a deep run will push into the small hours.
Trophies and the wider Asia push
Winners collect a personalised WPT-branded trophy engraved with their name or screen name — a small touch, but one WPT Global has leaned on before to give online titles the feel of a live win.
The launch fits a pattern. WPT Global spent 2026 building out region-specific programming, including the ¥100,000,000 guaranteed WPT Global Asia Series earlier in the year, and a weekly anchor event does something a series cannot: it gives the room a fixed appointment that regulars can plan a bankroll around. Whether the ¥1M guarantee holds without overlay is the open question, and the first few Sundays will answer it. If fields come in light, early runners get paid for showing up.
The tournament is open to international players too, so anyone comfortable with the start time can enter regardless of where they are based. But the buy-in denomination, the satellite pricing and the clock all point the same direction — this one was designed for the Asian player pool first.
