It is a hold, not a verdict — your balance stays where it is, and most clean accounts come back within days rather than weeks. What decides how fast you get back to the tables is how precisely you answer the first email.
Read the message before you panic
GGPoker and its Asian skin Natural8 use different wording for different problems, and players routinely misdiagnose their own lock. Three broad buckets:
- “Account temporarily locked” after a login prompt — this is usually a security response, not an investigation. An unrecognised device or a login from an unusual geographic location triggers extra verification, and GGPoker’s own guidance says the team will temporarily lock an account while it verifies your identity and reviews login history.
- “Your account is under review” — this is the Security & Ecology track. Something in your play, your device fingerprint or your payment trail pinged an internal flag.
- Withdrawals blocked but tables still open — that is not a lock at all. That is documentation, and it belongs in the KYC queue rather than the security queue.
What actually trips a Security & Ecology review
The policy names nineteen prohibited behaviours. Only a handful account for the bulk of locks that hit recreational players in Asia:
- Multi Accounting — defined as “intentionally creating and/or using multiple accounts on the same GGPN skin”. A second account opened years ago and forgotten still counts.
- Circumvention — “manipulation with malicious intent of the GGPN and its software”. This is the section players are most often quoted at when a VPN or a location mismatch is involved.
- Account Sharing and Ghosting — letting a friend play your session, or playing someone else’s. Shared household IPs make this messier to prove than people expect.
- Chip Dumping — “intentionally losing chips to another user”. Regular heads-up sessions with the same friend can look identical to this from the outside.
- Bots and RTA — the two that draw the longest investigations, because the team pulls months of hand histories.
- Promotion Abusing — claiming more from a promo than you were entitled to, often via a duplicate signup.
The Asia-specific traps
Regional players get caught by things that would never flag a European account. Roaming between Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City and Manila inside a single week produces a device-and-IP pattern that reads as sharing. Depositing through a family member’s e-wallet — a GCash or MoMo account that is not in your name — creates a payment trail that contradicts your KYC file. Your first 24 hours
Do these in order and stop after each one to see if it resolves:
- Try a clean login from your home network. No VPN, no proxy, no borrowed hotspot. If it is a device-verification lock, this alone often clears it.
- Check the email tied to your GGPass account, including spam. The lock notice normally names the policy section — that single phrase tells you which of the buckets above you are in.
- Reply once, in writing, with specifics. Dates, the device you play on, who else uses your network, and an honest account of anything unusual. Do not open a second support ticket; parallel tickets slow reviews down.
- Do not touch the balance or open another account. Registering a fresh account during a review converts a survivable case into a Trespassing or Multi Accounting one.
- Screenshot everything — the lock message, your cashier balance, your last session. If the case escalates, you will want the record.

How long these take
Verification locks resolve in hours. Security & Ecology reviews run roughly one to two weeks, and the network is explicit that complex cases take longer — hand-history analysis for suspected RTA or botting is not a same-day job. Chasing daily does not accelerate it. If you pass the fortnight mark with no response at all, one polite follow-up referencing your original ticket number is the right move.
If the answer is no
The policy lists graded outcomes, not a single guillotine: WARNING, REWARD REMOVAL, SUSPENSION, ACCOUNT CLOSURE, PERMANENT BAN, CONFISCATION OF FUNDS, plus narrower penalties like losing PokerCraft access or being restricted from certain game types. A first-time, low-severity finding often lands at warning or reward removal with the balance intact. Confiscation is reserved for money the network judges to have been won through the prohibited activity itself — not your entire bankroll by default. Staying out of the queue
Turn on 2FA under My Page / Profile > GGPass Account > Account Security, set a separate Fund Password for withdrawals, and log out unrecognised sessions when you travel — all documented on GGPoker’s account security page. One account, one name on every payment method, one device where possible. That combination removes almost every ambiguity a reviewer could hold against you.
Questions Asian players ask about locked GGPoker accounts
Can GGPoker keep my money if my account is locked?
Only through the Confiscation of Funds penalty, and only for money tied to the prohibited activity. A lock on its own does not touch your balance — the funds are frozen, not forfeited.
Does using a VPN automatically get me banned?

No. It is the single fastest way to turn a temporary suspension into a permanent ban under Multi Accounting or Trespassing.
Will a lock affect my rewards level?
Rewards progress is normally preserved during a review. Reward Removal is a separate, deliberate penalty applied only when a breach is confirmed.
