Resorts World Genting sits at roughly 1,800 metres on a ridge in Pahang, about an hour north of Kuala Lumpur. Why Poker Dream keeps coming back
Genting has effectively become the home venue of the Poker Dream circuit. In 2026 alone the resort has hosted Poker Dream 20 (late January to early February), Poker Dream 21 in April, Poker Dream 25 from 23 July to 3 August, and Poker Dream 26 is scheduled for 8–29 October. That is roughly four festivals a year in one building.

Getting up the mountain
From Kuala Lumpur the standard route is a bus or car to Awana, then the Awana SkyWay cable car to the resort level. The road up is a genuine mountain road with fog and switchbacks; the cable car is faster, cheaper and considerably less unpleasant if you get motion sickness. Buses run regularly from KL Sentral, and the whole journey is comfortably under two hours door to door.
